My activities at WSU

I worked for 18 years at WSU. The last 12 1/2 of them (until 8/21/98) with the VADMS Center, where I served as its chief technical support person, system admininstrator, and was responsible for the unit's day to day operations. I was one of its two lab instructors for the courses it conducted. Given below here is a listing of VADMS instructional activities.

VADMS Instructional Activities

In an effort to increase campus awareness of the VADMS computing resource, VADMS has been involved in instructional activities since its inception in 1987. User training sessions have been held over the years on special topics, but the bulk of VADMS training has been in graduate and undergraduate courses. VADMS has developed modules to insert into existing courses and developed courses utilizing the VADMS Center computer resources.

Because of VADMS longstanding commitment to computerized education, the lab has served as a co-chair for the Biocomputing Education workshop sessions at the '96 and '97 Pacific Symposium on Biocomputing meetings held in Hawaii. [PSB '96 held on Jan 3-6, 1996 and PSB '97 held Jan 6-9, 1997]

With the cut back in VADMS support, it is currently no longer involved in instructional activities.
