Want to download the Excel spreadsheet? Note the spreadsheet might not contain the latest information.
WARNING: Searching this spreadsheet will cause you to miss hits that you would get if you used the online database. It is recommended that you do an online search using name_filter entries such as this:
LIKE "%porphyrin%"
to get hits "hemin" and "porphine," as well as porphyrins. You wouldn't get these searching the Excel spreadsheet. See below for details on searching the database. If you still want to download the latest spreadsheet (080506) click here.
More details can be found in the Search Inventory Guide, which is a link available from the search pages.
***Important: As a courtesy to others, when you are finished with your search, TRASH your jobs by clicking the Jobs buton, then the Trash icon next to each job you ran. (Details given below.)

Name_Filter
LIKE "%coumarin%" will give hits not only for compounds with "coumarin" in their names, but also trivially-named coumarins like "psoralen" or "esculin". (LIKE does a more general search. Otherwise, the search will be nearly exact based on the name only.)
- When ready to search, click the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the left panel
Create a .mol structure, e.g. using IsisDraw, and save it as a file.
- Query_substructure: Browse button
- My Computer, Browse to the file, Add This File
- The structures appear in the Selected Files list
- OK when done adding substructures
- You can use 'AND_substructure' and 'NOT_substructure' to refine the structure search
For Search help, go to the Protocol page's Help tab and click "Search Inventory Guide"
When buying new "chemicals," write the CAS numbers and future storage location on the Purchase Order. Orders for "non-chemical items" do not need the CAS # or locations. Note that non-chemicals includes "Purely biological items" and "Mixtures of chemicals."
